10am Family congregation
Come and join us at 10am and be part of our contemporary service for all generations. Whatever your stage of life, whether you’re a young family, single, a family with teenagers or retired grandparents, you will enjoy the wonderful mix of people.
Because families are an important part of our 10am gathering we include the kids. We want children to experience church with their family, so the children join their parents for the first 15 minutes of the service for singing and a special Kid’s Spot, before heading off to Kid’s Church.
10am is a contemporary service that employs mainly modern music but acknowledges the value of the classic hymns also. We place emphasis on hearing the Bible read and explained, and we spend time in prayer for issues and concerns both local and global.
Kid’s Church is a fun time for infants and primary aged children, to play games, make craft and learn more about Jesus.
Once a term the whole family stays together for our special Family Service. These are thoughtfully designed to enable the children to participate in the entire service and experience church with the whole “family” of St Matthews at 10am.
An air-conditioned crèche is available for young ones 0-5 years of age, or if you prefer, make use of the air-conditioned soundproof side room, where you can hear and see the service while the little ones have room to move.
Viva Sunday 79 is for youth in years 7-9 and meets each Sunday morning of school term running concurrently with the 10am service. This is a time for them to hang out, read God’s word, pray and learn more about what it means to follow Jesus.
Relationships are so important to us so we encourage everyone to stay after the service and enjoy morning tea. It’s a great time to chat and get to know each other better!
Ian oversees the 9am [email protected] Congregation, as well as ministry to young families in general, through prayer, teaching and pastoral care. Ian is passionate about connecting to the Bible's teaching with everyday life, both in his own experience, and in the lives of families at St Matthews.
