9am [email protected] congregation
[email protected] is a contemporary service meeting at West Pennant Hills Public School. The school setting and relaxed style create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all ages. It’s a place where you can belong, and grow in your faith in Jesus. Everyone is welcome!
Church begins at 9am in the school hall with an inclusive time for children and adults, before we take a short break in the service for coffee while the children leave for Kids Church.
Kids Church caters for toddlers to year 6, with a program especially designed for each age group, and run by trained and experienced leaders. At the end of the service the children return to the hall for morning tea together, around 10:15am. We also have a space in the hall set apart for the youngest ones if they’d prefer to stay with mum and dad.
[email protected] also participates in a Sunday morning program called VIVA for youth in school years 7 to 9. It’s a time for them to hang out, read God’s word, pray and learn more about what it means to follow Jesus. VIVA takes place a short walk away in the main church building (Cnr Castle Hill and New Line Rds) from 10:00am. At 9:45am the youth walk from the school to the church building accompanied by leaders, and finish their program around 11:15am when they can be collected by parents from the main church building.
We’d love to welcome you to [email protected]! If you have any questions, or if you’d like to be connected with one of our ministries, please contact Ian Batey or the church office (02 9479 3700 or email).
Ian oversees the 9am [email protected]hool Congregation, as well as ministry to young families in general, through prayer, teaching and pastoral care. Ian is passionate about connecting to the Bible's teaching with everyday life, both in his own experience, and in the lives of families at St Matthews.
Julie was involved in the establishing of the Matts4Minis playgroup in 1989 and is delighted to be involved again, in a pastoral role. She has a passion for encouraging and helping mums through the early and demanding years of raising young children.
Jacki co-ordinates St Matthews ministries for children between 0-12 years of age. This includes all Sunday morning programs, after-school clubs for school-aged children and teaching SRE in the local primary schools. Her passion is sharing Jesus through word and song with the children and their parents, while building meaningful relationships with them.
