Ron Irving

Minister

Ron joined the team at St Matt's in October 2018 as Senior Minister. He is passionate about Jesus, his family (wife Julie, adult children and grandchild) and seeing the local church be healthy and effective in its mission.

Ron’s background is in youth ministry and he carries a desire for the church to be genuinely engaging younger generations so that they will know and serve Jesus throughout their life.

Ron enjoys spending time with family, good food, baking and soaking in great views. His like of good food and baking has also developed an enduring passion for good walks and the occasional jog.

Chris Donald

Assistant Minister - Young Adults

Chris loves Jesus, young adults, and by extension, his role as young adults minister. He is passionate about helping young people wrestle with big questions and consider the hope, peace and purpose they can find in Jesus Christ. He also loves introducing his rad kids to things like cricket, basketball, Thai food and Harry Potter, and talking about anything and everything with his wife, Emily.

David Tyndall

Pastoral Care & Seniors Minister

David  joined the staff at St Matt's this year to train people in Pastoral Care and minister to the senior members of our community.  He does not like coffee but loves sport. He played first grade rugby and refereed International 7’s rugby. He runs in the City2Surf. He is passionate about sharing the truths about Jesus with people who do not know what he came to earth for and seeing people who have a friendship with Jesus grow in their trust in Him.  He is married to Ruth who is local doctor and they have two adopted sons and 3 grandchildren.

David Yue

Assistant Minister – Chinese 

David joined St Matts from July 2020 as a temporary Assistant Minister serving the Chinese congregation. He worked for St Philip's Eastwood for the last 20 years and built up 2 Chinese churches by the grace of God. He just retired in March 2020. During this time of the global pandemic, all churches are affected. Rev. Huin was led by God to move on. So, David is happy to have the opportunity to serve at St Matts on a part time basis until whenever the future is clear.

David is married to Paulina. They have a daughter who has married and has 2 children. David enjoys playing golf for exercise and meeting up with friends.

Luke Zhang

Assistant Minister – Chinese 

Luke is Rev. Yue’s assistant on Chinese ministry to build a Christian Fellowship of prayer and evangelism. May the Lord use him to lead more and more people to know the Lord Jesus.

Luke loves soccer, classic music, tea and photography. Luke is married to Sandra Sii and they have a son Isaac.

Rebecca (BJ) Yap

Office administration - Communications

BJ works part-time in our administration team, with a particular focus on publications and communications. She is happily married to Tim and they have two daughters, Isabella and Jessica. She loves spending time with family and friends, and going swimming (when it’s warm enough!!).

Kat Butler

Office administration and Finance

Kat works part time as part of our admin team, with a particular focus on finances. She is happily married to Dan and they have one son, Samuel. She loves playing board games with friends or catching up over a good coffee.
