Sunday Kids
We love kids and families at St Matts. We know it takes a church to raise a child and we love to partner with parents to help them to raise their children to know and love Jesus.
We love to have children involved in our 9:30 service each week. We start all together in the main church building for the beginning of the service. We encourage families to sit together and invite our kids down the front for a kid friendly spot before they go out to Kids Church.
We want to help children learn about their God who loves them and engage with the Bible in an age appropriate way. On Sunday mornings there are three different groups for children.
All of our Sunday leaders love to help our kids get to know more about Jesus and they have all completed Safe Ministry training and have a current WWCC.
Babies and Parents
We love having children in our services and especially babies but if you need a quiet space to feed or settle your child, we have a beautiful space for parents and carers next to the main church meeting space. There are feeding and changing facilities with an audio feed of the service that streams in the room. There is pram parking available outside this room too.
Tiny Church
Age 18 months – 3 years
Tiny Church is a fun and safe space for our smallest children to play, sing, dance and learn stories from the Bible about their big God who made them and loves them. We ask parents to sign their children in and out from Tiny Church each morning. If your child requires a nappy change or to go to the toilet, our leaders will ask you to come and change your child. Changing facilities are available in the Tiny Church space, the Parents Room or the disabled access bathroom.
Tiny Church meets in Hall 2 and your leaders wear red tshirts so you are sure to find them.
Little Church
4 years - Kindy
Little Church is an exciting place for children to learn about Jesus and from the Bible through stories, play, songs and lots of fun. Our Little Church crew learn the same stories from the Bible as our grown ups in church so families can learn from the Bible together. We ask parents to sign their children in and out from Little Church each morning.
Little Church meets in Hall 3 and your leaders wear green tshirts so you are sure to find them.
Kids Church
Year 1 - Year 5
In Kids Church we learn great things about our great God through fun games, interactive story-telling, creative activities and digging into the Bible in small group discussions. Each week our kids follow the same stories from the Bible as our grown ups in church so families can learn from the Bible together. Kids Church children don’t need to be signed in or out of their program and will meet parents at morning tea after the service on the church green.
Kids Church meets in Hall 1 and your leaders wear golden tshirts so you are sure to find them.
Chinese/Mandarin Service
Kids Church also runs alongside our 11:30 service in Halls 1 & 2. Children start in kids church with free play and games and spend time singing and hearing stories from the Bible.
Friday Kids
Friday Kids Club is the best way to end the school week! We invite all kids in years 3-6 to join us on Friday afternoons from 3.15-5pm for crazy fun games and lots of food. Each week we hear from the Bible and learn about Jesus.
Cost: $5 per child or $7 per family
We ask that parents sign their children in and out each afternoon.
Kids Camps
Winterfest
Winterfest is our week long holiday kids club for kids in primary school that runs in July school holidays. Join us for a week of fun games, crazy activities and hearing about Jesus.
Our next Winterfest will run 15th-19th July 2024.
SquareOne
SquareOne is a camp for kids in Year 3-6 run by Youthworks. Kids and leaders from St Matts join with hundreds of other kids from different churches to go on camp in November.
Minis Playtime is a place for children aged 0-5yrs and their parents, grand parents and carers to enjoy time together playing, and building relationships with other members of our local community. Our playtime mornings are relaxed with play based activities set up for free play and outside play in our playground and fully fenced green space. Each term has a theme that introduces us to a bit of the Big God who knows and loves us. Each week we hear a story and craft fits in with our theme and spend time singing and dancing together.
We meet from 10am -11:45 on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday mornings during school terms. We meet in hall 3 of the church (follow the signs from the church carpark).
What to bring: We ask you to bring a hat, drink bottle and morning tea for your child/ren. Tea/Coffee is provided for adults.
Cost: $5 each week or $40 term. You can make payment with cash or eftpos on the day or via direct transfer to the account details listed.
